DESCRIPTION
After the success of the wireless ComTac™ VII with its entirely new TMAS system, a cheaper and wired version is now also available known as the ComTac VIII which serves as a replacement for the ComTac XPI (or V in the USA).
Still based around a new system called TMAS (Tactical Modular Audio System), the system offers flexibility and scalability to address the needs of the modern soldier, with the ability to manage legacy and future radio systems. This version is made to be compatible with regular PTT models.

REGULAR PTTs
This ComTac VIII allows the use of regular PTT systems. Available in either an EU wired or US NATO wired version.
SOUNDSCAPE
Helps to promote speach intelligibility in noise. It enables automatic changes to product settings depending on the user environment. When on, the following functions are activated:
- Increased radio volume in high continuous noise
- increased voive prompt in high continuous noise
- Reduced radio static/hiss between transmissions
MISSION AUDIO PROFILES (MAP)
MAPs provide advanced settings for ambient listening (besides the classic volume adjustment system). This allows you to adapt & optimize the environmental listening function to different scenarios.
IMPROVED AUDITORY SITUATIONAL AWARENESS (ASA)
An upgraded environmental microphone and a more robust windscreen create a more improved Auditory Situational Awareness (ASA) and reduced wind noise. Sounds and their localization feel more natural than ever before.
AMBIDEXTROUS
A redesigned, higher-placed microphone attachment accommodates for both left-and right-handed shooters. This without the need to relocate the microphone to the opposite side. Microphone can still be detached if required.
